Machine Shop Star
A solid day on the shop floor. You can tell a machine, with all its parts working together, from the equipment scattered on the bench, and you know that to assemble is to put parts together while to replace is to swap the old for the new. You matched the ending -ment to its family, where equip becomes equipment, move becomes movement, and ship becomes shipment. You felt the difference between coarse and smooth, sorted various from identical, and you know that clumsily and deliberately are two very different ways to do a job. On the register floor, you matched purchase to grab, error to slip-up, and costly to pricey, which most students trip over and you did not. Eight words, into your collection they go. Bravo.
