Terms of Service
Effective Date: July 20, 2026 | Last Modified: July 20, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the websites, applications, and AI-powered experiences operated by Grammaropolis LLC (“Grammaropolis,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including grammaropolis.com and its family of sites (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who May Use the Service
The Service is intended for use by adults (parents, guardians, teachers, and school administrators) on behalf of themselves and the children in their care, and by children under adult supervision as described below. You must be at least 18 years old to create a parent, teacher, or administrator account. A child may use the Service only through a profile created and managed by a parent, guardian, teacher, or school, consistent with our Privacy Policy.
2. Account Types
2.1 Parent Accounts
A parent or guardian who creates an account (a “Parent Account”) is the account holder and is responsible for all activity under that account, including any child profiles created within it. The Parent Account holder must own or be authorized to use the payment method associated with the account.
2.2 School and District Accounts
A school or district that creates an account (a “School Account”) does so on behalf of, and as agent for, the teachers and students it authorizes to use the Service, consistent with the school-mediated consent model described in our Privacy Policy. The school or district administrator is responsible for the accuracy of information it provides and for obtaining any consents required under FERPA, COPPA, or applicable state student-data law.
2.3 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@grammaropolis.com if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. Anyone whose access to the Service was previously terminated by us may not create a new account or use another person’s account to access the Service.
3. Subscriptions and Billing
Some parts of the Service are offered on a paid subscription basis. Where a subscription applies:
- Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, as selected at signup) through our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- You can cancel at any time through your account settings or by contacting support@grammaropolis.com. Cancellation stops future billing; it does not retroactively refund amounts already charged, except as described below.
- Prices are subject to change. We will provide notice before a price change takes effect on your next renewal.
Refund policy: teacher and parent account subscriptions come with a 7-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied, contact support@grammaropolis.com within 7 days of a subscription charge and we will refund that charge in full. This guarantee applies to account subscriptions only. Any separately purchased add-ons are governed by the purchase terms presented at the time of that purchase.
4. AI-Powered Experiences and Content
4.1 How the AI Experiences Work
Grammaropolis Adventures and related features use artificial intelligence (including Anthropic’s Claude) to power interactive experiences with our grammar characters. Character responses are generated in real time and are designed to stay within each character’s educational domain. As described in our Privacy Policy, we do not use children’s conversation content to train AI models.
4.2 Acceptable Use
When using the Service, you (and any child using a profile under your account) agree not to:
- attempt to make a character say, generate, or endorse content that is unsafe, unlawful, or outside the character’s educational purpose;
- attempt to extract, reverse engineer, or misuse the underlying AI system, prompts, or model;
- use the Service to harass, bully, or share another person’s personal information; or
- use any automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service.
We may monitor AI interactions for safety and quality purposes and may suspend access for a profile or account that violates this section.
4.3 Ownership of Submitted and Generated Content
You (or the child using your account, through you) retain ownership of any original writing submitted to the Service, such as essays submitted to Writer’s Workshop. You grant Grammaropolis a license to process that content as necessary to provide the Service (for example, to generate feedback or a certification). Grammaropolis owns the characters, world, curriculum, and underlying software; nothing in this section transfers that ownership to you.
5. Use License for Site Content
Permission is granted to temporarily view and use the materials on the Service for personal, non-commercial, educational purposes consistent with your account type (e.g., a School Account’s classroom use). This is a license, not a transfer of title. Under this license you may not: modify or copy the materials except as the Service itself permits (e.g., printing a workbook page for classroom use); use the materials for any commercial purpose; attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software on the Service; remove any copyright or proprietary notice from the materials; or redistribute or “mirror” the materials on another site or service. This license terminates automatically if you violate these restrictions, and may be terminated by Grammaropolis at any time.
6. Disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is.” Grammaropolis makes no warranties, express or implied, and disclaims all other warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Grammaropolis does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated responses will always be accurate.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Grammaropolis and its suppliers will not be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data, loss of profit, or business interruption) arising out of the use of or inability to use the Service, even if Grammaropolis has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
8. Links to Other Sites
The Service may link to third-party sites we do not control and are not responsible for. Inclusion of a link does not imply our endorsement of that site. Use of any linked site is at your own risk.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and, for paid accounts, cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, including the acceptable use provisions in Section 4.2. Upon termination, we will handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, including its data retention and deletion practices and how to request deletion.
10. Copyright Complaints (DMCA)
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@grammaropolis.com identifying the copyrighted work, the material you believe infringes it, and your contact information. We will respond consistent with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
11. Changes to These Terms
Grammaropolis may revise these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where required by law, provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
To the maximum extent authorized by law, the laws of the State of Texas govern the interpretation of these Terms and any disputes arising in connection with them, regardless of conflict-of-laws principles. Any claim or dispute between you and Grammaropolis LLC, its officers, directors, agents, parent companies, and vendors that arises out of or relates to these Terms or use of the Service will be decided exclusively by a court of competent jurisdiction located in Houston, Harris County, Texas.
13. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Grammaropolis regarding the Service. No waiver of any breach or default under these Terms is a waiver of any preceding or subsequent breach or default.
