On the morning of the get-together, Connie breezed into Gramma's Diner with a fresh idea. "Come on in, everybody! Hookin' up words and phrases and clauses. Today I'm joining tables, too."
Gramma flipped the pancakes poured the orange juice. Connie saved two seats by the window the morning rush started. Roger slid into one booth, Jake took the stool at the counter.
Connie hummed a happy tune she set out the napkins. Then the door jingled, and a platypus waddled in ordered a tall stack of worm pancakes. Up at the counter, Nelson pretended the platypus wasn't his.
"Everybody scoot a little closer," said Connie, " the diner is getting full." She clapped her hands the two tables finally slid into one.
Roger Jake reached for the same syrup, laughed, and shook hands. The whole diner cheered, Connie beamed. "Now THAT is a sentence with everybody in it."
