The sun was setting over Grammaropolis, and Vinny was racing across the city rooftops on the most daring rescue of his career. Far across town, a sneaky thief had trapped Pronoun on a ledge, and only Vinny could reach her in time. To pull it off, Vinny would have to across the rooftop, through the open window, and the rope down to Pronoun, who was waiting on the third floor.
"Lights! Camera!! Action Verb!!!" Vinny cried, and he was off. He took a deep breath and across the rooftop with all his might. Halfway there he onto a narrow ledge to catch his breath. For one second he about whether his cape still looked heroic enough for the big rescue. Then he that the whole city was watching from the street far below.
Now Vinny had to be a transitive verb and act ON something. He the heavy iron gate and swung it wide open. He a metal trash-can lid like a frisbee to knock the thief's flashlight loose. The thief stumbled back in surprise.
Vinny froze in a heroic pose. Yesterday he through this exact rescue perfectly on his very first try. So why did tonight feel so different? Beaten, the thief down the fire escape and vanished into the dark.
Pronoun was safe. Vinny struck one more pose against the sunset, because a hero's work is never done.
